Job Description

The role will support the Global Banking Markets Finance COO being the interface to other external support functions and other COO initiatives across Finance. The role will also support the strategic transformation and target operating model implementation across the sub-function of GBM Finance. The role will also support the GBM Finance COO with talent management, talent development, communication and people engagement for the function.

  • Support GBM Finance COO with agreement of organisational structure and implementation of consistent Finance Blueprint; to include identification of process improvements and achieving measurable efficiencies through centralisation and standardisation of processes, and offshoring opportunities to Global Finance Centres
  • Support GBM Finance COO with design and/or drive strategic change for the GBM Finance sub-function
  • Support GBM Finance COO with ownership of Finance System Business Architecture - implementation of Finance systems strategy and rolling out common Finance platforms within the GBM Finance area
  • Support GBM Finance COO with capacity management, including new business creation, planning and analysis and joining up GBM Finance. To include creation of strategic resourcing plans to support delivery of business Change initiatives.
  • Support GBM Finance COO with management of the development, collation and reporting of domain-specific and globally required KPIs, scorecards and other key metrics for scope of responsibility including Finance delivery service support
  • Support GBM Finance COO with the delivery of Organisational Effectiveness and delivering the benefits.
    • The GBM Finance Business Manager role supports the GBM Finance COO to "joins up" and improves the cohesion of the GBM Finance function across the region/business, as well as improving the control and capacity management procedures.
  • Strong drive, commitment and focus in executing a change agenda
  • Analytical skill to support cost and other analysis for the functions
  • Excellent stakeholder Management
  • Leadership skills demonstrating ability to initiate and effect change through people in a large matrix organisation
  • Continuous improvement and change management experience desired
  • Finance processing and operational management experience essential (including cost and control management experience)
  • Execution oriented: proactive escalation of issues while maintaining solution orientation and an ability to navigate through the HSBC matrix to be able to achieve desired results
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time
  • Influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills in a complex global environment
  • Project and time management skills; understanding of the project life cycle
    • Strategic thinker and pragmatic implementer able to develop efficient methods of bringing about change
