As our new Business Glossary Lead in our Data Governance, MI & Business Services function, youll lead the development and ongoing management of YBS Business Glossary to ensure critical data is documented with approved definitions and associated businessmetadata providing consistency of use and understanding and promoting improved data management through organisation wide use of the Glossary. Youll join a likeminded team in our Leeds based Data Governance and Operations function (currently working remotely).Aboutthe roleAs Business Glossary Lead, you will manage & maintain the business metadata within the business glossary tool and establish & embed process for end to end data lineage management working closely with related data teams and business users. Youll providea single point of contact for business areas to raise, escalate and resolve problems relating to business metadata. You will: Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are captured as part of the glossary and that the glossaryand metadata is fit for purpose, up to date, published, and adopted Provide analysis, regular & ad-hoc reporting and status updates on metadata activities Promote the importance of good data management and metadata management through a variety of methods appropriateto the audience including presentations and workshops Maintain a working knowledge of the data regulation, legislation and best practice, in particularly the principles of BCBS239 and other data management standards for financial services Support the developmentand oversight of the implementation of an end to end data management operating model across associated data teamsAbout youYoull be a driven self-starter with experience of data management, governance and/or data quality initiatives (possibly within a MetadataLead, Metadata Manager, Data Governance Manager, Information Librarian or Data Librarian type of role). You will have: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate data consistently to different audiences Understanding and experienceof processes, standards and policies related to data management, governance and/or data quality Solid understanding of data management principles and standards, and the application thereof Knowledge of Data Protection requirements and best practice Experiencewith metadata management, master data management and information lifecycle managementAbout usAt YBS we dont have shareholders, we have members.
