Job Description

Role: Business Development ManagerIndustry: Sheet Materials / Panel SuppliesRegion: LondonSalary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) plus bonus, company vehicle etc.External Area Sales / Business Development Manager required with sales experience of bulk panel sales to large end users and merchants.Working for a leading National Timber merchant, supporting a new Group initiative selling bulk sheeting materials directly off the quay from their facility at Tilbury.Covering the whole of the South, the successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of sheet materials, an understanding of commodity trading and an existing portfolio of merchants.The role:Based remotely or from one of their regional branches, you will effectively be the face of the business, proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities, networking with existing and prospective clients in order to develop a deep understandingof their project pipelines and material needs.As well as managing all business development activities, you will strive to stay ahead of the curve with respect to market trends and competitor activity. This information will be used, alongside customer spend patterns, to drive sales within bulk panelproducts.The person:

  • Experience of bulk panel sales
  • Understanding of commodity trading
  • Motivation and drive to secure and increase sales opportunities
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a customer first attitude
  • Ability to grow, maintain and leverage your network of contacts
  • Ability to identify potential clients and the appropriate decision makers
  • Ability to research and build relationships with new clients
  • Plan approaches and pitches to develop proposals that speaks to the clients needs, concerns and objectives
  • Participate in pricing
  • Self-motivated and target driven
  • Disciplined and able to organise a busy schedule effectively
  • Focussed and persistent with a will to win
  • Team player able to work effectively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service
