Job Description

This highly regarded international law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their London team. Reporting into the Senior BD Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the firms lawyers in the managementand growth of existing client relationships, as well as developing new business. Working with the firms global maritime Sector Lead and supporting two dynamic and ambitious Sector Heads, the role will drive the growth of this market-leading sector group.Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and deliver the London maritime sector BD and Marketing plan
  • Develop and manage the London maritime BD and Marketing budget
  • Proactively identify and implement sector-led campaigns to generate and grow business
  • Support partners in the management of key clients
  • Project manage the pitch process
  • Coaching partners and senior lawyers
  • Develop and execute profile-raising activities and initiatives to develop the market position
  • Manage the London Maritime Business Development Executive
  • Serve as a mentor, sounding board, and role model for junior members of the team and contribute to overall team planning, development, and culture
Requirements include:
  • 5+ years of professional services business development or relevant industry experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • An active awareness of, or interest in increasing an understanding of, the maritime sector
