Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a global, innovative and forward thinking top 30 UK law firmon a 12 month fixed term contract basis.As an experienced BD Manager, you will be supporting the Intellectual Property group and reporting into the Head of BD TSI. This role can be based from any of their UK offices.In this role you willchampion and manage the implementation of the Intellectual Property (IP) business development plan across all pan-European offices, as well as gaining exposure across some exciting and ambitious key Life Sciences projects.Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the leaders of the IP group on the wide range of BD initiatives they seek to undertake.
  • Working with the Head of BD TSI to define the annual IP plan, with a focus on raising the profile of the Tech IP and Brand and Creative Rights service lines.
  • Work with the senior leaders in the IP team to market and develop product portfolios with a particular focus on developing a sales strategy to target large multi-national businesses.
  • Working with the BD Exec implement general IP business development plans in line with the firms business strategy/objectives focussing on the development of reputation, key relationships and the development of new service lines and revenue.
  • Proficient in all aspects of business development, including targeting, proposition development, curating thought leadership campaigns, measuring tactical activity, encouraging strategic alliances, and recognising how a strong brand goes to market
  • Playing a key role in bridging market knowledge from IP into the Life Sciences sector. And where required supporting on key initiatives across the Life Sciences sector.
  • Where required, work with the TSI sector BD team to align business development activity and to support the Sector Group Head on initiatives.
Relevant Experience:
  • Experience of undertaking a similar role in a partnership environment.
  • Intellectual property experience is preferable.
  • Experience with fast moving and creative industries is desirable.
  • Ideally 2-3+ years management experience or similar.
  • Team management and mentoring skills.
