An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and capable Business Development specialist to join a rapidly growing independent law firm as a Business Development Manager for their large and comprehensive Dispute Resolution department.You will set the agenda for your group, taking the lead on pushing projects through to successful completion and developing a successful and happy team around you. Acting as a strategic partner, the successful applicant will be responsible for providingand driving high value advice and initiatives, whilst contributing to the firms overall business development strategy. You will guide your core teams to find connections with the wider firm that empower business development at all levels. The role holderwill have day to day contact with a variety of key stakeholders, including Senior Partners and fee earners, and will need to win their trust in order to make credible BD proposals. You will manage your teams resources effectively and will work with them tomaintain focus on the areas that will create the most impact. The Business Development Manager will identify and develop practice specific products and services that can be used to position the practices competitively; ensure that all members of the departmentare aware of key issues and trends in the law; develop the firms profile through PR, editorial, thought leadership, market research, select conferences, newsletters and seminars; identify new markets for the practice to exploit and which clients and intermediariesare the most appropriate for growth and develop plans; and play a role in the management of key client accounts.The ideal candidate will have proven relevant professional services experience which should include roles with a client development focus and experience in pitch and proposal preparation and appropriate coaching to those delivering pitches. Strategic andcreative with strong commercial nous, the Business Development Manager must be a flexible, team player and possess an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with energy, enthusiasm and drive.
