Job Description

Job Title: Business Development ManagerLocation: South of England with good transport routes to LondonSalary: £35,000 - £40,000Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hour weekBenefits:

  • About the role of Business Development ManagerTo generate and maintain mortgage business with Brokers/Intermediaries through building and developing relationships. Working as part of a team to lead efforts to drive and retain business growth opportunities whilst promoting the brand, service and product offerings of the Society.Responsibilities for the role of Business Development Manager
  • Dealing with enquiries from Brokers and Intermediaries and assessing their requirements and needs.(telephone and field based)
  • Assessing potential applications against lending criteria and affordability in order to produce Decisions in Principle (DiP)
  • Follow up of referred business leads in a timely manner and help drive cases through to completion.
  • Operate within the appropriate mandate level.
  • Promote the Societys products and services addressing any issues or concerns to make informed business decisions on lending.
  • Build long term relationships with new and existing brokers / clubs / networks.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and client needs, reporting recommendations to the mortgage sales, products and marketing teams and liaise with mortgage operations as required.
  • Arrange meetings with prospective brokers / partners to promote the Society and raise its profile in the market, and be a brand "champion"
  • Be aware of market trends and competitors.
  • Attend and present at expositions, conferences and seminars to raise the Societys profile and drive mortgage growth & brand awareness
  • Identify and target key accounts for optimum sales opportunities.
  • Input into new product and policy development to ensure the Society remains competitive.
  • Operate and comply with current regulatory requirements.
  • Experience required for the role of Business Development Manager
  • CeMAP qualification is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a field-based business development role delivering on business targets.
  • A proven track record in the Residential and Buy to Let sector as a Business Development Manager, developing relationships with introducers.
  • An understanding of mortgage lending regulations, mortgage market, and building society competitors.
  • You will need to possess excellent communication skills, can research and develop businesses with superb relationship management skills.
  • You will need to be self-motivated with drive to succeed
