Job Description

A global, full service face-to-face live events marketing partner is looking for a Business Development Executive to play a key role in the commercial growth of stands within the Exhibitor sales department. Along with salary of £35,000 per annum, you willalso receive an OTE of £60,000+, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays, a health cash plan, life assurance, a travel season ticket loan, flexible working, free financial advice, and more!You will generate sales yourself, hunting new untapped opportunities. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, you will develop strategies including building relationships with organiser clients and their teams, growing your personal brand withExhibitors, and becoming an integral figure within the Show Ready team.This is a very varied role and includes problem solving and concern resolution for key clients as well as an element of outbound customer service and soft upselling of key products to existing clients.As a Business Development Executive, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Business Development Manager to achieve the revenue targets for Exhibitor sales
  • Selling stands to exhibitors directly whether by an inbound enquiry, a lead is referred by an organiser, or a cold approach.
  • Being part of the Sales and the Exhibitor Outbound team – winning and processing orders.
  • Developing and managing allocated relationships with key organiser clients to grow sales, providing support to client sales teams who will sell direct.
  • Working within the sales strategy to grow the business on shows where we are the official contractor; including develop retention plans to demonstrate growth year on year.
  • Supporting the strategy for growth on selling stands into shows where they are unofficial, building relationships with organisers or agents where possible to negotiate collaborations.
  • Managing and owning your sales pipeline to ensure there is sufficient opportunity to meet targets.
  • Working to increase the scope of work and services provided to clients – upselling and cross- selling when appropriate and ensuring a profitable mix of income.
  • Working with the wider Commercial Team to explore/ support the opportunities for sales within organiser relationships.
The successful Business Development Executive will have the following skills and experience:
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent (A-C grade)
  • Experience gained within the exhibition and events industry
  • Experience working within a similar role/at a similar level
  • Communication (verbal, written and listening skills), with excellent spelling, grammar, and the ability to produce error-free documents
