Job Description

Rule are looking for sales-savvy talent with a keen business acumen to join our award-winning client in central London. The role is highly autonomous, requires immense work-ethic and is therefore extremely rewarding.Our client is a highly recognized "freesheet" publishing house 100% dependent on advertising and sponsorship revenue. However, they do not distribute in the streets, they pay a fee to broadsheets who will print and distribute their publications. What sets our client apart is that content creators and revenue generators are not in separate divisions, but work under the same department: That is where you come in!This approach creates a varied and challenging work environment, where revenue generators have in-depth product knowledge which gives them credibility in the marketplace. This has proven to be an incredible opportunity for previous hires to expand their network and sharpen their business acumen.The role:As a Digital Publishing Manager, you will have full project-management authority over five projects annually, from the start till their maturity once published. Your responsibilities will include:Spearheading the search - Investigating the market for information gaps to report on.Generating revenue - Pitching your report to C-suite directors across all industry sectors.Sourcing content - Finding journalists and relevant content developers to produce the report.Report development - Final say on front page design from your graphic design team.Editorial Commissioning - As the paper’s editor you will sign-off on the final print.The role is diverse and stimulating, with an emphasis on revenue generation through high-profile business development as well as creative activities.What is in it for youOn average, you can expect to earn a minimum of £14,000 in addition to their basic salary of £35,000. There are also several other performance-based rewards that come along each project you will be working on. High performing individuals can expect to earn up to £70,000 in their first year.You’ll typically be promoted to Lead publisher within your second year which comes with and additional increase in basic salary of £6,000.This is made possible by their extensive training and development opportunities.The Candidate:Previous sales experience is ideal but not a pre-requisite - however 12+ months commercial experience is required.
