Were very family friendly as a company.Where does the role sitWere the Chief Data & Analytics Office within Lloyds Banking Group!We take ideas from the concept stage and work with our customers to understand how data science and machine learning can be applied. Youll work on a wide range of exciting projects with no shortage of work.We support all areas of the bank, so products you work on could apply to any area of financial services, and weve got one of the largest data sets available in FS for you to draw upon. Were well funded, and were expanding rapidly.What exactly does a Data Solution Engineer doData Solutions Engineers here at Lloyds are part of the senior management team and youll usually be embedded within one of the divisions which we support, for example Retail, or Insurance, or Commercial Banking as examples.Youll work with the division to understand their business problems revolving around data, then once you have built a picture of their data capabilities and required support, you can help to shape & accelerate the divisions data capabilities.A key focus will be to support our adoption of cloud, this is really important for us, and we need someone with good knowledge of the practical problems implementing cloud solutions for this role.Youll work closely with divisional areas and architecture to help shape, design, and build data and analytics solutions on our Google Cloud capability. Youll apply knowledge of enterprise application environments, data/analytics solution design, data modelling,data engineering, and tools such as BigQuery.As the adage goes, communication is key, which is certainly true of this role and youll often be the link between technical and non-technical audiences.What do we need to see from your applicationWere keen to see diverse and varied applications, however as this is a senior role in a niche industry area well need to see the following as a minimum to be considered for interview;

• A prior career background with significant experience of Solution Design specific to the Data industry. Working at senior level already, or very ready to take that step.
• Broad knowledge of potential solutions utilising Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Business Intelligence. Youll need a solid grounding in more than one area.
• Advanced experience in Cloud Architecture, designing data/analytics solutions in the cloud, ideally GCP. In practice, not just theory. Were not looking for Enterprise Architect though!
• A good imagination!
• Excellent communication skills: influencing and working reliably with technical and non-technical audiences - asking intelligent questions and able to make complex data analysis simple.
• Youll need to have developed a depth of knowledge around standard data management practices, a passion for what can be achieved using data and an appreciation of what benefits can be derived from data (essential).
