Business Data ArchitectLondon£95,000 - £110,000 per annumCompany clientpartnered with a leading organisation looking to hire a Business Data Architect for a permanent role.This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading insurance organisation at the forefront of the market and leading in a modernisation that will see technology and data central to the business growth plans.Currently Data architecture needs modernisation and rationalisation. Your role will be essential to the transformation into a digital company to meet ambitious growth plans.Key Responsibilities: * Shape the processes and tools used for data creation, enrichment, and cleansing, and set the standards that need to be followed during these procedures.* Work to continuously improve data architecture processes to meet business needs and deliver value.* Translate business requirements into technical requirements and design the target architecture by understanding the policies and the processes relating to the creation of modern data products.* Ensure data meets the architectural management standards, is aligned to our data management framework and enhances business outcomes.* Obsess about reusable components, accelerators and shared frameworks to reduce duplicate effort.* Onboard new applications and own delivery of day-to-day activities of data architecture.* Define the tools to be used for data integration that support the overall business strategy and priorities, and enable us to build out our data product marketplace.* Define our current data state in business terms, including but not limited to: o Improving our corporate business data landscape and owning our corporate data model.* Documenting our data lineage across our business processes, identifying both value opportunities and where data quality issues arise.The successful candidate should have a passion for data and a curious mindset both for the business and the wider insurance industry. Great communication skills across all levels of seniority and the ability to represent data internally and externally to ourcolleagues, and clients will also be important.If you describe yourself as a team player, a passionate data expert, are enthusiastic, possess a high level of integrity and the willingness to make a significant contribution, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity!Knowledge & Experience: * Experience of modernising data architecture to deliver products and services that make a difference!* Understanding of data models, standards and tools used across architecture, engineering.* Experience working within strategy and product development teams to support global data projects.* Experience of delivering data governance and data policy fit for a global environment.* Collaboration with technologists to translate business needs into data products.* Extensive knowledge of and experience with RDBMS architectures.* Familiarity with information management practices.* Knowledge of large-scale data processing.* Knowledge of data lake / warehousing solutions.* Experience working in cloud environments.* Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.* Modelling capability with the ability to clearly represent complex ideas graphically.* Familiar with a variety of modelling approaches, tools and model repositories.If you are interested and live in the UK please apply.
