Job Description

Business ConsultantAn internationally renowned airline software solutions provider is looking for an experienced business analyst to lead the Business Consulting chapter for the Loyalty line of business. The role presents an opportunity to gain exposure to working with globaltravel companies and a range of systems. You will play an important leadership role in the entire requirements management process, setting up the business consulting function up for success for all programs of work. You will also lead and provide requiredguidance to junior team members. You will be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.The role will involve interacting with senior leadership team and keeping them abreast with teams ability to delivery and meet organisation objectives. This role will involve collaboration with the multiple teams both internally and externally in a fast-pacedand challenging environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Methodology and Artifacts: This includes responsibility for making sure that organization (or project) best practices are established and followed throughout the duration of the project. The Consultant should have influence on how requirements are elicited;what documentation will be produced; and how it will be signed-off and transitioned to other project stakeholders like Product Engineering or the Quality Engineering teams.
  • Estimating: Based on the understanding of the defined scope of the project (based on a requirements documentation or other scope-related artifacts), the Consultant estimates for requirements elicitation, documentation, and review activities. It is extremelyimportant to have an understanding about availability and expertise of the subject matter experts or other stakeholders who need to provide business knowledge and ultimately sign-off. The Consultant must consider the level of expertise of the members of theBusiness Consulting team when estimating how long certain activities will take.
  • Staffing: With the defined scope, the Consultant organises the team of Business Consultants who will aid in executing the project. The Consultant needs to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the assembled team to assign work effectively and positionthem for success.
  • Managing Scope: As the project evolves, changes in scope are inevitable. Increases or decreases in scope usually is a result of change in requirements. The Consultant needs to understand the overall scope of the project and be able to identify when requirementsare changing and ensure that project change management procedures are being used properly by working closely with the team members assigned to the project. Any risks or issues resulting out of a change in scope should be communicated to relevant stakeholderswithin the project and to the leadership team to discuss and decide the best course of action to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Delegate: Consultant should take into consideration the strength and weaknesses of individuals before assigning work to the team members. The Consultant will need to strike a good balance between setting the team up for ultimate success from a project executionstandpoint and ensure that each Business Consultant has the opportunity to grow as individuals on the project.
  • Coaching: In addition to setting up the team and delegating responsibilities among team members, the Consultant needs to serve as an ongoing coach and advisor to the team. There are two main types of coaching the Consultant will be responsible for. First,technical coaching includes ensuring documentation is accurate and complete, meets the agreed upon standards, and deadlines are being met. Second, non-technical coaching can include how a Business Consultant is interacting with stakeholders, facilitationsskills, participation in meetings, and in general the behavioural skills of the individual.
  • Review: The Consultant should provide at least some degree of review of documentation for consistency and accuracy, especially as it relates to requirements that might span or relate to multiple functional areas (and thus potentially multiple Business Analystcontributors). The amount and intensity should be decided based on seniority of the Business Consultant team put in place for a project or assignment.
About YouFor you to be successful in the role, you will have at the least 10 years experience as a Business Analyst or has experience working in a consulting practice, proven knowledge of testing and UAT lifecycle, an understanding of the SDLC, both traditionalWaterfall and Agile and demonstrated specification and business writing skills. You will have an excellent communication, effective negotiations skills at all levels of organisation. Knowledge and experience in the travel domain, Loyalty and CRM is preferredfor this role.Location: Work from home in EuropePackage: Competitive salary and benefits
