Job Description

National Police Chiefs’ Council - Business Analyst Organisational Development and Change£39,469 to £47,089 plus a location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £39,469 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £47,089 will be via incremental progression.Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based at 10 Victoria Street, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. NPCC STRATEGIC HUB ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE TEAMThe Organisational Development and Change (ODC) team has responsibility for driving continuous improvement across the NPCC, delivering projects of work, and giving advice and guidance to ensure development activity is in line with NPCC and wider policingstrategies. The team works with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the NPCC can support Chief Officers in the constantly evolving areas of national policing.THE ROLEWe are seeking to recruit an experienced Business Analyst, whowill undertake insightful analysis and provide high quality business analysis products to inform and support NPCC programmes and projects, reviews, and organisational development requirements.Workingat the centre of policing, on the biggest issues for the service, this is an exciting andchallenging role where you can make a real difference. You will be highly solutions focused and a skilled problem solver who utilises your excellent analytical skillsto think laterally and to assimilate and manipulate large amounts of data and information to produce accurate, timely analytical products with recommendations.You will regularly manage complex, high profile, politically sensitive work where decisions and delivery have national implications with the potential to impact on the reputation of the whole police service. You will need excellent interpersonal skills toestablish and maintain credibility and effective working relationships with police chiefs, senior stakeholders and other NPCC staff.The successful candidate would be part of an innovative team and would need to have the following experience and skills:
  • Proven understanding and experience of applying analytical concepts, processes, and techniques.
  • Experience of undertaking accurate and systematic scoping, data collection, manipulation, process mapping and analysis, utilising a wide array of sources, to inform analytical products.
  • The ability to use software to manipulate and present data/information, including Microsoft products (excel, word, PowerPoint, Teams product and those in the 365 suite)
  • Advanced presentation skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to produce quick turnaround, as well as longer-term products.

A recognised qualification or evidence learning in analysis methodology is required (e.g., College of Policing IPP, Cabinet Office PHIA, academic qualification with a strong research component).
