Business Analyst - Alpha Data Architecture, Asssitant Vice President

Job Description

Purpose of Role: State Street Alpha Architecture team is seeking a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills for development and support of Alpha Data services and product offerings. The successful candidate must possessskill in complex business data analysis with expertise in functional requirements gathering and documentation; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; a proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams; and strong collaborationskills. This role is part of broader Alpha Architecture team. Major Responsibilities: Role Specifics: Support individual client implementation efforts (80% of activity) Provide analysis and advice to clients (internal and external) on current and future statedata-centric operating models Liaise with clients in order to establish and document implementation requirements, develop "use cases" to document requirements Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Alpha offering to perform subject matter expert activities,consultancy, implementation configuration and demonstrations Analyze and document data mappings from source systems to the Alpha Data Platform and onward data outputs for client implementations Ongoing requirements analysis to align client expectations, requestsare within the application framework Analyze and document any derivation, workflow and enrichment required within the Alpha solution for client implementations Support internal and client testing activities prior to "go live" date and immediate post-productiontransition with the support of test plan development and test scripts Help manage project to time and cost objectives Support on-going enhancements to scope of services for existing clients as needed Play significant role in contributing input on EMEA-specificproduct requirements working closely with the global Alpha teams (for specific client or to close product gaps) and enlist Alpha Product support as related to: In-bound and out-bound system feeds Data models Data marts Product technical documentation Playa significant role in contributing input on overall Alpha product enhancements and requirements working closely with the global Alpha product teams, including: Product functionality Technology architecture Competitive positioning Internal and external feedrequirements Execute on Proof of Concept projects for prospects and demonstrations as needed through the sales process Collaborate with other Alpha implementation team members to share best practices, raise issues, develop consistent global processes Consolidateapplication design for global strategic model Apply functional business knowledge to system roadmap and be part of agreeing future enhancements / development activities Individual Contributor: Display a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clearindividual sense of accountability in performing the role Ensure that the highest level of the Code of Conduct is displayed in your behaviour Provide appropriate management information as required to support business unit decision making Support the RiskExcellence culture within the business Adhere to limits of delegation and escalation procedures required by your manager so that you comply with internal policies and external regulations Level of Education/ Specific Qualifications: University degree in thefield of computer science, data management or other technical field An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus, as is CFA designation Skills and Experience 6-10 years of strong experience with data management systems within Financial Services Previousexperience implementing software or data services Agile development process and expertise Technical knowledge of running SQL, Squirrel across data architecture Knowledge and experience of multi-tenancy architecture and complex system architecture Knowledgeof ETL and data transformation Knowledge of job schedulers such as Autosys Knowledge of Enterprise Service Platform (ESP) a plus Knowledge of State Street and its technology architecture a plus Required Competencies Strong team ethics and team player Strongcommunication (verbal and written) both internally and with client/prospects Solutions / client service orientation with focus and desire to deliver high quality client solutions Clear understanding of investment data and aspects of investment process Stronganalytical and planning skills Knowledge and working experience of SQL, Oracle, Toad, Squirrel, EDM and ETL are all an advantage
