A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a qualified Property Surveyor to join one of Badenoch & Clarks most improved public sector clients in a permanent role.This full time role (Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week) is with a West London client and a car driver/owner is essential as visiting sites/properties is required. The post will sit within the Asset Management team and report into the Assistant Director of Asset Management. Key responsibilities of the role include:* Providing technical support to the Home Ownership and Commercial Services team, working with other teams to ensure that home owners and tenants receive an excellent repairs and maintenance service. * Managing and resolving routine, complex and contentious repairs and maintenance issues with residents and being the main point of contact with third party managing agents for maintenance issues.* Providing technical surveying support to other members in the team and liaising with other departments and external organisations as required. * Carrying out inspections to residential, leasehold and commercial properties and communal areas as requested by the Asset Management repairs team.* Leading on issues affecting developments containing home ownership, leasehold, intermediate rent and commercial tenants ensuring that suitable contractors are instructed and that they perform to a high standard.* Working with the planned maintenance team to ensure that specifications for major works meet the needs of home owners and intermediate tenants. * Working with the Development team on new schemes during design, construction and handover to minimise future repair issues. * Working with the Home Ownership team with regards to statutory requirements of Fire Safety legislation.* Acting as the advocate for residents within the tenures managed by the Home Ownership and Commercial team.* Leading on repairs and maintenance for works on non-freehold properties, examining section 20 notices and monitoring the quality of works and value for money, challenging where necessary.* Working with the Customer Aftercare Manager and the Development team in relation to any defects within the contractual period and providing reports to Development on any potential latent defects outside of the contractual period.Please note, a relevant building surveying, building or architectural degree (RICS or Masters Degree) is highly desired for this post. In addition, a sound understanding of residential leases and fire safety legislation is also essential.Interviews are to commence in mid December 2020, and all applicants need to be highly customer focused and strong in writing reports and detailed disrepair cases.
