Job Description

Building Design Manager Location: UK Flexible Contract type: Permanent Hours: 35 per week Salary: circa £32,000 per annum plus Company Car Are you a driven and enthusiastic Design Manager with experience of owning the building design process Could you play a lead role in building design activity on a UK wide basis whilst driving continuous improvement across the entire British Red Cross Property Estate We have a great opportunity for an experienced Building Design Manager with a background in Surveying and Facilities management. You will engage with internal stakeholders across all service lines and at all levels of seniority, managing projects involving multiple suppliers, delivering multiple construction works on a compressed, rapidly moving programme. What you will be doing In this newly created role the Building Design Manager will provide a central design and project management function to the Property team. You responsible for the development and periodic updating of standard fit-out specifications for British Red Cross buildings, a construction database of the estate and the management of a consolidated project tracker across all property projects to ensure they are delivered on time and in budget. As this role will require regular travel to British Red Cross sites throughout the UK a company car will be provided. This role is right for you if... You can lead the development, review, and update of a range of standard specifications for the fit-out of British Red Cross buildings, ensuring that they align with statutory requirements, current operational needs as well as the organisations green strategy. You are highly proficient in the delivery of CAD construction and layout drawings for projects as required, ensuring that all project drawings and specifications are tracked, updated and controlled throughout the project lifecycle You can work autonomously, embrace change and continuously strive to improve the building design process to deliver a best in class service You are a motivated and driven team member who can develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, at all levels to ensure engagement and support for the standard specifications in use at any time. To support building occupiers, stakeholders and property team members in the development and agreement of fit-out plans to meet occupier requirements and the standard specification criteria.
