Build and Deployment EngineerLondon (home for now)6 months tbc£500-£550 per dayInside IR35As a preferred and trusted recruitment partner to this international banking group for over eight years, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a Build and Deployment Engineer at their EMEA HQ in Central London.This contract will run initially until the end of the year; however, it is very common to receive renewals with this bank, and we would expect you to be on site for longer than this initial period. This role will be working from home from day one, however in normal circumstances would be based in Central London close to Aldgate East Tube Station.In this role, you will be responsible for Build and Deployment management across our clients banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. *Work with development teams to transition their current build and deployment processes to the automated platform we are rolling out across the Bank / SecuritiesoThis will entail the creation of build processes in TeamCity, linking these to binary repository storage (Artifactory) and deployment automation (Jenkins / MicroFocus DA) oLiaise with distributed development teams to manage their transition from manual processes, supporting users as we progress*Support the direction of automation of processes by redeveloping existing manual / air gapped build and deployment processes*Follow direction of the Build and Deployment Manager*Suggest / implement improvements to processes with an aim of continual improvement*Suggest / develop further automation possibilities*Understand the wider function of the team, especially the relationship with Release and Environment Management*Assist with testing of new processes developments when required*Support and maintain all elements of the Build and Deployment platform]Functional / Technical:*Excellent understanding of Build, Deployment and Software Configuration management tooling and processes.*Good understanding of Environment Management*Good understanding of SQLServer / Oracle and associated deploy / release technologies ( e.g. RedGate, RoundHouse, Liquibase, dbUp)*Understanding of Web application structure and deployments (IIS / WebDeploy)*Good ability with scripting methods. (including Perl, Powershell, shell, groovy)*Subversion (VisualSVN) / GitHub Enterprise*Artifactory - configuration / management / integration with Build tools (including REST methods)*TeamCity / Jenkins*MicroFocus Deployment Automation / UrbanCode Deploy *Jira / Confluence*ServiceNowWork Experience:*Has experience as a Build Manager in a complex multi system environment*Has implemented and maintained automation systems for efficient and effective build and deployment*Has experience in liaising with cross functional teamsThis position would be suitable for those who have held the following titles; Build Manager, Deployment Manager, Deployment Engineer, Build Team Lead, Deployment Team Lead, Senior Build Engineer, Software Configuration Manager, Deployment Lead and Senior Build ManagerPlease note this role has not been formally signed off by our client, however its extremely likely to be signed off next week and formally released hence the salary / contract duration not been confirmed.Deerfoot IT Resources Ltd is one of the UKs leading IT Recruitment Agencies.
