We are currently seeking a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join our finance team, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.As a Temporary Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our finance department. This position offers an immediate start and the opportunity for a permanent role based on performance and fit within the organization. You will gain exposureto various finance tasks and responsibilities, working closely with our experienced Accounts Manager, Linda. The ideal candidate will be a team player, ready to get involved in different aspects of the role.Responsibilities:• Maintain the sales ledger and ensure accurate credit control procedures are followed.• Manage the purchase ledger and process supplier payments.• Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis.• Maintain bank and credit card accounts, ensuring accurate records and reconciliations.• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.• Process and submit weekly/monthly payroll, including year-end duties and auto-enrollment.• Assist in the preparation of management accounts.• Reconcile balance sheet control accounts and review profit and loss accounts.• Support the Accountant in the preparation of year-end accounts.• Handle ad hoc duties as required.Top 5 Must-Have Skills:• Sales ledger experience.• Credit control knowledge and skills.• Ability to perform accurate and efficient bank reconciliations.• Familiarity with managing credit card transactions.• Willingness to take on ad hoc tasks and assist in various finance responsibilities.Requirements:• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.• Familiarity with accounting software, including Sage Accounts and Sage Construct.• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.• Strong organizational and time management skills.• Exposure to various finance tasks and responsibilities is highly desirable.• Training and support will be provided by our experienced Accounts Manager, Linda.Benefits:• Competitive salary based on experience.• Opportunity for a permanent role based on performance.• Valuable exposure to finance tasks and responsibilities.• Supportive and collaborative work environment.How to Apply:If you are a proactive and motivated Accounts Assistant looking for a temporary role with the potential for a permanent position, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
