Job Description

Blockchain Platform - Data Governance Lead Who we are looking forThe Data Steward Lead will be a senior leader responsible for working with Business Unit core team, Data Stewards, Analysts, IT, Enterprise Data Governance & Management (EDGM) to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, privacy, availability, securityand usability and adherence to Corporate policies and procedures. Why this role is important to usOur Data Governance function is driving Data Strategy across our business, helping identify the right places to source data, understanding how the data flows through our organization and ensuring we stay focused on data quality. Our clients and regulators demandexcellence in how we govern our data, and our team is at the forefront of supporting their needs. What you will be responsible for As a Data Steward Lead you will:

  • Drive Data Governance activities across the business unit and be responsible for driving accountability, policy compliance and data quality issue resolution through collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Support Day-to-Day Data Stewardship Operations
  • Drive enterprise data-decision making processes and facilitate discussion to address conflicting viewpoints with the goal of arriving at mutually satisfactory agreements
  • Understand the enterprise direction, processes, rules, requirements and deficiencies
  • Guide the business unit stewardship needs for information sourcing; provisioning; consumption; standardization; and reporting & analytics
  • Drive the resolution of data, information and processing challenges that are having an adverse impact on the operational environment and/or business performance
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate into the data strategy
  • Conduct as-needed alignment meetings on strategic data-driven initiatives
  • Lead projects involving upstream and downstream data flows and processes to ensure compliance with data governance policy.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment with regard to matters of significance, collaborating with EDGM Data Governance Leads to understand new capabilities, service offerings, policy and framework changes.
  • Create reporting around data governance progress for key stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of Data Governance and Management practices through internal Data Governance course completion and Certified Data Steward (CDS) accreditation where appropriate. Participate actively in the EDGM Data Steward Forum/network.

  • Prior business operations role with data focus. Experienced in managing/monitoring data platforms with data driven objectives
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Financial Services Industry is required
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data management concepts, principles and practices
  • BA/BS Computer Science / Business / MIS (or equivalent work experience to substitute for education); Masters a plus
  • Proven understanding of global environment
