Job Description

An incredibly busy and successful company is looking for experienced Biomedical Scientists, with a background working in Microbiology/Virology, to join their exciting scientific team in London.The CompanyThey are an incredibly busy multinational company who have recently established a new diagnostics laboratory in London, and are actively recruiting for a Biomedical Scientists to ensure a high quality of microbiology and virology service.Biomedical Scientist Role:This exciting opportunity is needing someone to come in lead research projects and be responsible for the delivery of discrete work packages within projects.   • Maintaining a high level of accuracy and precision in the process of sample handling and testing
  • To exercise day to day responsibility for the skills and competence required to provide a microbiology service.
  • To check that equipment is functioning within parameters and faults reported to manager
  • To check that test performance is within expected parameters and to identify problems and report to the appropriate BMS
  • To maintain competence, skills and knowledge in diagnostic microbiology and virology as appropriate
    • Biomedical Scientist Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc and minimum of 1 year industry experience
  • HCPC Registered
  • Extensive PCR Experience
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases and experience in specialist diagnostic investigations
  • Training in immunoassays, ELISA, and molecular techniques
  • Training in the preparation of reagents, COSHH and Risk Assessments, dealing with hazards and waste disposal to meet statutory requirements and ensure a safe working environment.
