Job descriptionWe are seeking an experienced SQL developer to join our product development team. Utilise your technical skills and expertise to play a key role in the teams activities that include all phases of the software development lifecycle. Work on multiple work-streams and be able to act independently, make decisions, apply analytical judgement and be an active member of the team. Influence the testing/implementation of these components and provide post implementation support. We adopt the DevOps mind-set, and are responsible for the operation of the applications we deliver. Contribute to technical discussions, influence ways of working, share knowledge and provide technical mentorship to other team members. Role RequirementsHow you will make a difference

  • Build high quality SQL database solutions
  • Implement and optimise current stored procedures as well as analysing existing SQL queries enabling performance improvements
  • Continually test your programs, correct errors to maximise quality
  • Take ownership in reviewing work as well as participating in colleague reviews
  • Support all aspects of the data lifecycle, operating in an agile way of working
  • Be part of a high performing team forming strong and impactful relationships
  • Coach and mentor others
  • Invest time in professional and personal development
  • Minimum Essential Criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience working in a similar role working on data warehouse and data mart solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, SQL server management studio
  • Experience of tools supporting the development and version control process, for example GIT, TFS.
  • Problem solving techniques, ETL processes and writing stored procedures
  • A dedication to continuously learn new skills and apply this in relation to design, development, test and support activities

  • This specific role offers a base salary of up to £40,000(subject to experience and skillset) The total package also includes:
  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The current cost to the Bank of providing this pension is 35% of your salary.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool and target award of 10%, with a maximum potential award of 25%
  • A 7% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits
  • 25 days annual leave with option to buy up to 13 additional days through flexible benefits
