Job Description

A a very successful software platform is looking for a talented BI Analyst to come and join their growing team. This client has built a powerful employee/HR platform which has become very successful for clients all across the UK.As a BI/Data Analyst you’ll have

  • advanced knowledge of SQL
  • advantaged knowledge of Power BI
  • Understanding data structures and imparting this knowledge to others
  • Knowledge of integration with HR systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle and ESR
Job Purpose As A BI Analyst
  • Delivering Management Information to internal and external clients
  • Expediting & supporting colleagues with data analysis, extraction and manipulation
  • Consulting with clients to understand, document and implement MI requirements
Job Responsibilities As A BI Analyst
  • Become expert regarding all aspects of the software platforms data including reporting, importing & exporting
  • Understand their data schema and nuances of client data to facilitate creation of robust SQL queries- Consult with clients to understand their MI requirements- Author clear and concise MI requirements documents for sign-off- Deliver MI to requirement leveraging Microsoft T-SQL and Power BI- Assisting colleagues with SQL challenges- Mentoring colleagues to improve SQL skills
Skills and Knowledge:- Strong inter-personal skills, able to communicate clearly and confidently to varying levels of individuals internally and externally - Self-starter, able to break down a project into actionable steps and use initiative to move these forward - Have the confidence to work on their own but also to ask for help or direction when required - Good time management skills with the ability to deliver to a deadline - Diligence and attention to detail to ensure work is delivered to a high standard Experience of the following is essential: - SQL - ideally advanced knowledge- Power BI - ideally advanced knowledge- Understanding data structures and imparting this knowledge to othersExperience of the following would be useful: - Excel - manipulating large data sets / charting- Knowledge of system integration including webhooks, APIs and file transfer
