Job Description

Role:Bank - Hand TherapistsLocation:London Bridge Hospital – Outpatient Physiotherapy department at The ShardShifts:Various Bank shifts, Weekdays from 730am to 730pmJob DescriptionTo be responsible for the assessment and treatment of a full and varied clinical caseload, such as acute hand and wrist trauma and post-operative hand and wrist rehabilitation, as well as managing a range of non-trauma hand and wrist conditions, includingperipheral neuropathies, hand osteoarthritis and work-related biomechanical overuse.Duties and responsibilities

  • To be responsible for an outpatient Hand Therapy clinical caseload,
  • To utilise advanced clinical reasoning skills and knowledge in providing high quality hand therapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment, facilitating evidence-based care.
  • To use highly developed clinical skills to triage outpatients to the appropriate service / management.
  • To actively seek opportunities to develop strong communication lines and relationships with Orthopaedic, Plastics, Rheumatology, Neurology and Sports Medicine Consultants at London Bridge Hospital.
Skills and experience
  • Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy degree qualification.
  • HCPC registration
  • Significant post graduate Hand Therapy clinical experience treating a wide a range of hand and wrist conditions (trauma and non-trauma) and post-operative rehabilitation, including skills such as wound management, removal of sutures and thermoplastic splinting.
  • Experience in assessing and treating work related biomechanical overuse conditions.
