Band 8a Senior Clinical ScientistA modernised clinical pathology service, proud to deliver excellence for users, patients and staff. Applications are invited for a Clinical Scientist (8a) to join our large team of Clinical Scientists within Blood Sciences at North West London Pathology (NWLP).NWLP is a new partnership between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Trust. The partnership represents a new model for delivering pathology testing in a modern, efficient operation that manages 25 million tests per year. Our services are delivered at six hospital sites across North West London.The Clinical Biochemistry Service, one of the largest in the UK, provides core services in automated laboratories on each site with specialist services centralised at Charing Cross Hospital. Specialist services, including a number of SAS centres, are Endocrinology, Trace Elements, Tumour Markers, Molecular Urology, Metabolic Biochemistry and Special Proteins; all have strong Clinical Scientist leadership.The successful applicant should be state registered with at least one year of post registration experience and actively working towards FRCPath part 1 (if not already obtained). Our 8a clinical scientists typically spend one day each week as Duty Biochemist and divide their remaining time between two of our specialist services where they will receive full training, develop their expertise and contribute to service development.Full support for completion of FRCPath will be provided to the successful post-holder and there is also opportunity for completion of the HSST as we are an accredited provider of this training.
