The Royal Free is a successful Foundation Trust and a major teaching hospital campus within UCL. The cardiology department has expanded greatly in recent years and offers a full range of services. We are the leading European centre for carcinoid heart disease, one of the few UK referral centres for Pulmonary Hypertension and we have close collaboration with the National Amyloid Centre sited at the University site at the RFH.Applications are invited for a specialist cardiac physiologist in echo to be part of our expanding team. The successful applicant will be able to show a proven record of working to a high standard and will be a self-motivated individual who is organised, flexible, and reliable.Applications are now invited from enthusiastic well motivated individuals with experience in echocardiography. The position would suit individuals who are able to independently acquire echo images but are in occasional need of support with interpretation / report writing. Our team of experienced echocardiographers will provide you with the required training and support to attain BSE accreditation in echocardiography.The echocardiography department provides a routine TTE outpatient and inpatient service. More specialised services include 3D, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Echo, Contrast, Bubble, and TOE.We have weekly review and teaching meetings attended by one or more consultants, registrars, cardiac physiologists and junior staff.All physiologists are encouraged to attend relevant course/meetings as continued professional development is important to our team and post-graduate exams are actively encouraged.Our department has a strong emphasis on teaching/training of physiologists, specialist registrars, MSc students, and newly qualified junior members of staff.
