Paediatric Electrophysiology & Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) NurseBand- 6Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital - LondonHours per week: 33.75 Hours – Part Time (0.9 WTE)Job Type: Fixed (ending 01/01/2023)The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust is the UK’s largest post-graduate specialist heart and lung centre, with a world-famous reputation for its history in the investigation, treatment and research of heart and lung disease. An exciting opportunity within our Trust has arisen for an enthusiastic individual seeking insight and specialist experience in the paediatric electrophysiology (EP) service. The post holder will work alongside the Lead Nurse for ICC’s, the existing adult and paediatric EP/ICC nursing team, and wider multi-disciplinary team.This role is a unique opening for an experienced paediatric cardiac nurse to specialise in caring for children with electrophysiological problems, with further opportunities to gain knowledge and skills supporting patients and their families effected with inherited arrythmias. The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in ECG recognition, arrhythmia and device management including symptom trigger rescue work, and the understanding of ICC’s and genomic healthcare. Formal and informal teaching, developing autonomous practice and service development will also be encouraged.Previous experience working within cardiology is essential (see job description).
