Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Job Description

My client based in West London is currently recruiting a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with at least one years experience working in Mental Health.The ideal candidate should be able to provide expamples in previous roles of:Demonstrating an understanding of service users needs within acute mentalhealth and how this impacts occupational functioning and health and wellbeing. Providing occupational therapy assessment (MOHOST) for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and enabling the service user in areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. Working closely with service users to identify OT goals as part of the overall CPA process. Writing, planning and risk assessing evidence based group protocols  Planning and delivering 1:1 and group interventions in collaboration with the service user (grading and adaptation). Facilitating home visits with service users. Managing a therapeutic budget and maintaining therapeutic resources and stock. Adaptation of the environment and prescribing aids for service users with physical disabilities. Undertaking risk assessment and management plans. Documenting clinical reports and case notes using electronic record systems. Working as part of an MDT (nursing, medical, psychology etc.) and communicating effectively within these modalities. Providing clinical supervision to junior staff and OT students. Working collaboratively with other modalities to facilitate groups such as art therapy, drama therapy and movement therapy. Engaging in supervision and reflective practice in order in enhance clinical skills.You must have the below requirements to work as an Occupational Therapsit: BSc OT or DIP COT Full HCPC registration Experience of working as an Occupational Therapist High standards in written and oral communicationIf you would like more information regarding this vacancy or other vacancies that we may haveavailable, please contact us on the details below.Danny HunterEmail: Tel:*****Due to contract with our clients, registrations and DBS checks will be required withSugarman*****Sugarman Group is a specialist Mental Health Consultancy with 26 years experience.
