The Pharmacy department of the Royal Free London NHS Trust is a friendly, progressive and expanding unit dedicated to providing the highest standards of pharmaceutical care and service in this large, internationally renowned teaching hospital. The Trust has good transport links to the West End and major mainline train stations such as Kings Cross, Euston, Stratford, London Bridge and Charing Cross.The Royal Free Trust includes the Barnet and a Chase Farm hospital sites, the latter which opens a new state of the art hospital in the summer making us one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. In addition to this, we have a Pharmacy / Clinical Trials unit in the high profile and expanding Institute of Immunity and Transplantation. On the Hampstead site we also host one of the most extensive manufacturing suites in the NHS.We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic Pharmacy Technician to join our pro-active Pharmacy department. The successful candidate will take up a senior role within the main inpatient dispensary of the Royal Free Hospital Pharmacy Department on the Hampstead site, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.You will be responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day running of the inpatient dispensary, deputising for managers in their absence.The successful candidate will also be required to develop and monitor the service we provide to patients and clinical specialities; ensuring that our formulary is strictly adhered to. The post will include supervising pharmacists, technicians and students. Stock management will be a major task in this position. We are keen to develop our technicians to reach their potential within this large and expanding Pharmacy department. Having merged with several other NHS trusts, this role provide a great opportunity to drive harmonisation.Candidates should have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
