Job Description

Back End Drupal Developer, Fully Remote, £55,000 - £60,000. Plus 27 days annual leave and other excellent benefits. We are exclusively partnered with an established and highly successful digital product and services agency. The agency specifically partners with clients who share collaborative values and a big-picture vision. The team deliver digital overhauls, originals,and optimisations to digital presences, products, and systems. They want to welcome a Drupal Developer into their talented team, who can build trust in forming human-friendly experiences for their existing clients.The main remit for the role initially is for someone who can step into projects primarily as a site-builder and site-maintainer, but has the capability to lean into site architecture, custom module development, and also preferably have an understanding ofDev-ops.This role will focus on maintaining, enhancing (developing new sub-sites, features and functionality which enable the client sites to continually improve whilst supporting the clients business objectives). You will also be supporting with any technicalissues on existing client sites - requiring someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, curious, loves problem-solving and isnt afraid of regular context-switching!ResponsibilitiesSite Support: You will review and respond to technical requests raised by the client, working with the wider team to ensure a resolution, whilst also ensuring internal knowledge transfer and proposing long term solutions to those regularissues that pop up.Site maintainer: Liaising with the team & client to perform timely security updates coupled with scheduled non-urgent updates. You will work closely with the wider development team to apply best practices for site maintenance.EnhancementDelivery: You will help bring the technical design to life, collaborating with other developers, designers, project managers, product owners, and also clients. You will collaborate with other developers to solvetechnical challenges with the design or development workflow.Enhancement Technical Design: Sometimes there is one right solution, and sometimes there are multiple approaches that can be taken with various pros and cons. You research these solutions, possibly making prototypes / proof of concepts.You know weve done great work in the past, and you look to see how that can inform future solutions.Enhancement Discovery: You will participate in technical discovery sessions with clients in the early stages of projects. You will dig into their technical landscape, understanding the challenges they are facing, and the direction they areheading. As you dive into understanding the unique needs of our clients you will also be documenting your insights and learnings for our internal teams to engage with. You will work closely with our clients and are comfortable with leading a discussion ina room of internal and external individuals.Tools: You will use tools like Google Docs, Slack, Jira, Harvest. You will use technical tools like git, Vagrant, Docker, CircleCI, Drush, ComposerRequirements & Experience:

  • Significant experience (minimum 3-5 years) in Drupal development. You have a good understanding of content type modelling in Drupal, search API, migrate API, config management, deployment workflows, hosting requirements, Composer, Varnish, CDN, custom moduledevelopment.
  • Up to date knowledge of where Drupal is at, and where its going in the future.
  • Ability to lead technical discovery discussions with clients and internal team members.
  • Experience in an agency context or of managing multiple simultaneous contracts in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a support or maintenance role
  • Acquia Certification is a bonus
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
