Job Description

Back End Developer - Java & Oracle PL/SQLPrestigious London based Finance Client requires an accomplished Back End Developer to support on a large scale Aladdin implementation project. You should be conversant with large databases and have solid experience of Java back end and Oracle PL/SQL.

  • Design and delivery of technical solutions with an emphasis on quality, automation and continuous integration.
  • Work in collaboration with peers and contribute to new tech discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, collaborate on requirements, relationships and ensuring that the technology strategy is aligned with business goals and strategy. Hands on responsibility for engineering within the Risk product’s Java applications and Oracle relational databases
  • Development and maintenance of existing and future data pipelines and platforms.
  • Analysis and solution construction for Investment Risk Framework and ad hoc business data enquiries. Ensure the smooth running of all processes that use or derive data from data feeds
    • Essential:
  • Excellent experience and skills in Java (8+) / Spring / Spring Boot.
  • Solid understanding of object-orientated programming techniques and use of design patterns. Experience of build tools and CI/CD - e.g. Maven, Jenkins.
  • Experience writing REST web services. Exposure to messaging - JMS or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of developing in a microservices environment with auto-scaling, loosely coupled, secure & resilience services. Experience of web frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle 11g+ relational database and data warehouse development
  • Experience of Data Architecture and Dimensional Modelling
  • Experience of writing and optimising stored procedures and views to transform and deliver data. Experience of using performance, monitoring and alerting tools
  • Experience in scripting/automation languages (Shell, Python)
  • Experience of using Linux in a containerized environment
  • Experience with ETL concepts and tools (Markit EDM particularly)
  • Experience of Oracle 12c Exadata
  • Knowledge of investment management (Investment Risk particularly)
  • Experience of Blackrock Aladdin
