Job Description

The Data Engineer works within the IT department to undertake analysis, design and development of data and reporting solutions aimed at improving our business processes, decision making capabilities and analytic workflows.Desired Qualities and Skills Core:

  • Exposure to Alternative Asset Management, Investment Banking, Private Equity sectors
  • Business skills and commercial awareness in order to prioritise and deliver solutions
  • Technical competency in core technologies such as Microsoft Analytics stack (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, DataFactory, PowerBI, Spark-SQL) and MSFT SQL-Server
  • Technical competency in Python
  • Exposure to data management, data warehouse and analytics methods and technologies
  • Exposure to implementing Design Patterns (elements of reusable objected oriented programming)
  • The ability to communicate with colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely
  • A meticulous, logical, analytical and creative approach and organised approach to problem solving and coding
  • The ability to work both in a team and alone and to manage your own workload
  • An ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
Desired:
  • Technical competency in core languages and frameworks such as .Net Core, U-SQL (C# and T-SQL), Angular, Material Design, Bootstrap
  • Expertise in one or more Business Intelligence platforms or tools and an expert understanding of data visualisation and analytic output
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps pipeline and GitHub
