Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen, Prospero are working with one of the UKs leading system integrators to find an experienced and talented audio visual engineer. The successful candidate will work on AV installation projects either as part of a team ofengineers or in an individual capacity, reporting to the Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have prior installation experience in both commercial and residential audio visual installations.Key Details:

  • Audio Visual Engineer
  • Permanent role
  • Based in Buckinghamshire / London
  • Salary dependent on experience
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Perform 1st Fix and 2nd Fix installation of the following AV Systems within the budgeted number of hours and to the required quality levels:
  • Projection and display equipment
  • Multi-room audio
  • Video and audio conferencing
  • Crestron and or AMX hardware installation
  • Light dimming systems
  • Home Cinema
  • Telecoms
  • Security
  • Cable management and making of all standard AV / IT connectors
  • Equipment mounting, fixing and hanging
  • Fault finding and commissioning
  1. Daily communication with Office Team to ensure timely and accurate recording of job progression, snagging, times and mileage and reporting of any issues to the Operations Manager or Project Manager.
  2. Ensure that the administration of paperwork is to a high quality standard, keeping all records up-to-date and accurate.
  3. Ensure that Health & Safety and security procedures are followed at all times.
  4. Maintain high standard of appearance and wear safety clothing provided.
  5. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical information.
  6. Adhere to Company Vehicle policy at all times.
  7. Any other duties as required by your line manager
Key Skills:Successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Prior experience in the Audio Visual and Technological industry
  • Excellent knowledge of basic engineering practices: cable termination, crimping, soldering, first fix cabling, second fix installation, computer networking skills, fault finding and configuration of equipment using software
  • Product knowledge: Crestron, AMX, Extron, Lutron, Polycom, Cisco
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Be organised, flexible and able to approach different types of tasks during the working day
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and methodical in record keeping
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude under pressure
  • Ability to work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans and project drawings
  • Ability to work from instructions from client and Project Managers, but also to think laterally and suggest engineering solutions on site
  • CSCS Card
  • Full clean driving licence (minor points will be considered)
  • Must be physically fit
Although not required, it would be an advantage to be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Degree level education in a practical engineering degree
  • Have achieved a CEDIA Installer qualification
  • Crestron and AMX programming skills
  • Based in the West London area, Berks or Bucks, M40 M4 corridor
