Job Description

The Strand Campus is part way through a programme of redevelopment, which includes a major renovation of the Quad Building (£47 million).Reporting to the Head of Fire Assurance, the Assurance Manager - Fire Safety will be responsible for providing competent guidance to ensure the Directorate of Estates & Facilities complies with all duties under current legislation, providing planned and reactive fire safety management, and conducting Fire Risk Assessments across all buildings / spaces occupied by King’s College London (KCL). In addition, you will support projects across the estate including large scope capital projects, fire stopping compartmentation works and fire alarm detection replacement programmes.The successful candidate will possess a fire safety qualification and membership of a relevant fire professional body. You will have a thorough knowledge of fire safety legislation, Building Regulations, British Standards and have experience in assisting in developing, and implementing a fire strategy. Demonstrable experience of producing reports on fire safety performance and undertaking assurance activities across a property portfolio to assess compliance.This role would suit individuals currently in a similar client-side role within a public sector organisation such as the NHS or local government. Alternatively, fire professionals with a background in consultancy looking to move across to the client-side.The competitive benefits package includes 27 days annual leave + 4 closure days (over Easter and Christmas) + bank holidays.
