Job Description

Our client is a real estate debt fund with a mandate to provide development loans (£10m-£100m) in the UK & Ireland. They mainly provide funding for residential and PBSA projects but selectively look at hotels, offices and industrial assets. They have transactedin excess of £4bn since their inception.Due to continuing expansion they are looking to hire an additional associate into their team. In the role, you will be a key part of the underwriting team, supporting a loan originator across the lifespan of a development finance facility.The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of property finance experience gained in a bank or alternate lender / debt fund.Key responsibilities:

  • Leads and coordinates overall due diligence / underwriting process
  • Reviews initial deal information and prepares the financial model in accordance with our policies/hurdles to share terms with clients
  • Produces key underwriting documents, in particular, detailed credit applications, with direction from Deal Originators and support from Head of Deal Execution
  • Reviews professional reports and feedbacks issues, questions, comments to professional with Head of Credit
  • Proactively flags issues and potential risks to the Head of Credit; offers solutions to resolve these with minimal impact to clients.
  • Coordinates and leads communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Attends client meetings and contributes to new business development activities.
  • Inputs into development of changes, new ideas and innovation to the wider business.
  • Undertakes required admin and updates on Maslow systems; undertake or run relevant training and development activities.
  • Carries out business required ad hoc activities and cross functional requirements
The salary is £60k to £75k + bonus and benefits package.
