Job Description

Slater and Gordon are a leading consumer law firm which provides a broad range of specialist legal and complementary services. We are undergoing a huge transformation across all areas of the business, with a focus on people and technology, and our mission is to give people easier access to our world class legal services.Due to continued growth, we are looking to onboard a talented, ambitious Associate to support a high profile second level and key document review project.You will be supporting the first Group Litigation of its kind, with multiple Defendants on the other side, and the complex disclosure phase of the case is critical to building a strong evidentiary basis for strategic inter-party correspondence, preparation of key expert reports and the future trial as well as applications to be made in the interim.We believe that location should not stop us from attracting top talent within the industry so location can be flexible for this role.Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team of second level reviewers and solicitors to progress the case.
  • Reviewing legal documents using litigation support software Relativity
  • Analysis and categorisation of large volumes of evidence such as emails, presentations and business-internal documentation.
  • Running multiple manual and technology assisted disclosure reviews efficiently
  • Prioritising most relevant documents for review
  • Participating in bi-weekly review clinics with junior counsel
  • Providing a real input to ongoing progression of disclosure streams.
    • About you:
  • Ideally 3 PQE+
  • Proven experience of undertaking document review work.
  • Good level of understanding of use of the Relativity e-disclosure platform
  • Knowledge of analytical and document review tools such as Brainspace, textual similarity, compare, etc. and other e-disclosure software solutions
  • Strong background in managing document review for large cases
  • A strong team player with the proven capacity for initiative, as well as both individual and supervisory responsibility
  • Analytical and process oriented mindset with methodical attention to detail.
  • Motivation and desire to continuously develop own technical expertise
  • An adaptable approach and the ability to foster a culture of positive change
