Job Description

We are a leading Chinese bank in the City and currently recruiting for an internal auditor. The Bank is renowned worldwide for its quality services to customers and has operated in the UK as a Branch for the last 6 years.As an Assistant/Officer (Internal Audit), youre expected to be a highly motivated individual who has strong ethical standards and excellent knowledge of the financial sector. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a small team andquickly adapting to cover a broad range of duties. The key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in audit assurance planning by identifying and evaluating key risks in the scope for audit projects;
  • Participate in all phases of the audit, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting;
  • Identify key controls during the walk-throughs and assess the adequacy of their design for key risk mitigation;
  • Identify gaps and areas of improvement;
  • Follow up with audited units and tracking of observations and recommendations from internal and external reviews;
  • Maintain the Branchs audit system, policies, and procedures;
  • Coordinate and assist reviews which will be performed by the Head Office and regulatory bodies;
  • Build strong relations with key stakeholders across the organisation to understand risk issues and identify areas for improvement;
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Branch management.
The successful candidates are expected to have the following credentials:
  • A Bachelor degree or above in Accounting or Finance is preferred;
  • ACCA, ACA, IIA, CPA, CFA, equivalent certification is preferred;
  • 2+ years in an internal/external audit role with in-depth knowledge of the financial sector;
  • Strong ethical standards and high level of integrity;
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative approach to problem-solving;
  • Able to quickly understand complex processes and challenge the status quo, identify risks and inadequacies in procedures;
  • Ability to work independently and with a team on assignments, while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills.
This will be a full-time position and the successful candidate will receive a mark-to-market salary package depending on experience.
