A leading sports broadcast company has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Librarian to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.You will provide assistance in the daily management of a library and digital archive with a particular focus on ingesting footage and managing media. You will enter metadata, accurately update archive files and utilise your knowledge to undertake footage research requests. In addition, you will export and deliver research compilations ensuring all audio and video is configured correctly and complies with broadcast standards.Candidates will have previous experience of working in a footage library, with a good working knowledge of Digital Archive (MAM), video file formats and television transmission standards. Basic linear editing skills are required, along with a high level of computer literacy (spreadsheets, database entry). Although not essential, any proven experience with VTR machines and formats is highly beneficial, as is knowledge of file sharing systems.Excellent organisational and administration skills are key, along with the ability to work to tight deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure.
