Job Description

Were partnering with one of the UKs leading cancer charities to find an ambitious and proactive Assistant Finance Business Partner. The charity provides vital support, raises awareness, funds innovative research to end the suffering once and for all.The Assistant Finance Business Partner will work closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and the wider finance team to deliver improvements to financial reporting for stakeholders. Youll also have ownership of the Corporate Services Directorate budgetsand business partner with HR, IT, Facilities, Legal and Governance.Key responsibilities;

  • Providing insights and improving understanding of stakeholders financial performance
  • Developing and building relationships with ADs, Heads and Senior Managers
  • Preparing monthly forecasts of income and expenditure for management accounts
  • Meet regularly with budget holders to discuss variances, understand changes to forecast and provide training and support
  • Being the key contact with the research institute relating to royalty income and grant payments
  • Reconciling payroll and submitting P11Ds to HMRC
  • Producing monthly management accounts including accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process
The ideal candidate will;
  • Have completed some CCAB accountancy exams
  • Have experience of producing management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information in a way that is easy to understand
  • Be proactive, keen to learn and will work effectively in a team and independently
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring finance business partner to get an introduction to stakeholder management, budgets and forecasts. Youll receive excellent training and development and work as part of a close-knit and friendly team. The role ishybrid with 2 days per week expected in the office. Study support possible.
