Job Description

cer Financial are working alongside an Investment Management company who are based in the West End of London who are seeking an ACCA/CIMA/ACA Part Qualified, or actively studying Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant to work with them on a permanent basis.Ideally candidates will have strong Excel, and have a background within the Financial Services, but other industry experience will also be considered if you can show the aptitude to learn.In this role you will be a member of the Finance team, assisting in all day to day and month end processes to ensure good governance, control and reporting of all financials, internally and externally, in an accurate and timely manner.The Responsibilities of a Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant Will Include:

  • Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters
  • Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy
  • Invoice management (customers and suppliers), reviewing against policy, ensuring accurate data capture and processing of payments
  • Performing bank account and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, management information and variance analysis
  • Assist in the production of financial statements and applications, preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required
  • Maintenance of budget and cash flow reports
  • Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the teams monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure swift payment of invoices and process payments and transfers
  • Resolution of finance related queries
  • Assist with end of year preparation, external audit and other processes
The Successful Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant Will Have:
  • Part Qualified / Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Degree level education
  • Strong level of Excel - who can deal and manage large and complex data sets (vLookups, Pivot Tables, Sumifs etc - basic Macros would be desirable)
  • Experience using Oracle NetSuite (desirable not a pre-requisite)
  • Knowledge and experience of running an effective account payable and accounts receivable function, ensuring all data capture accurate and in line with policy and budget for month end
  • Experience in assisting the production of management accounts, management information and variance analysis
  • Be able to demonstrate involvement in changing processes in creating efficiency
