Job Description

Assistant Accountant | Central London / Hybrid | FMCG Lifestyle Brand | £35-40,000 + bonus, benefits and study support Assistant Accountant for this dynamic FMCG Lifestyle Brand paying £35-40,000. This is a hybrid role with three days working from the office in Central London and 2 days working from homeYour new role:This is a full time role, for an ambitious Accounts person, seeking genuine career development. You will be reporting to and learning from an inspirational Financial Controller in a small accounts team.What youll be doing:

  • Ensuring month end duties are performed in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing aged debtors and escalating overdue receipts and ensure all sales invoices are raised / posted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain files for Purchase invoices, bank statements, sales invoices, and assist with VAT returns.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs.
  • Performing weekly bank reconciliations across multiple banking platforms for both GBP and foreign currency payments.
  • Enter all purchase invoices on the system.
  • Obtain authorisation from the appropriate person for all purchase invoices.
  • Where any discrepancies or issues arise with sales and purchase invoices, raise this with the FC in order that a timely resolution can be identified.
What youll need to succeed
  • The ideal candidate will be studying or part qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) with at least one year accounts experience
  • Experience of using an accountancy systems
  • Proactive and interested to learn new things to develop a broader understanding of the Finance team and the month end tasks.
  • Demonstrate accuracy/attention to detail as well as the ability to manage and priorities completing tasks
  • Experience of working in an accounts department for a fast-paced business.
  • Have a positive attitude and collaborative working style
  • Youre well organised with excellent time management skills
  • Have a growth mindset, keen to learn and take on new challenges
