Archway Workshop Specialist Technician

Job Description

You will be part of the team based at CSMs Archway campus, working in the making workshops that support the Foundation course as well as MA Art and MA Art & Science. You will be one of the lead Technicians in the wood and plastics workshop and be able to work across into casting and metal workshops as needed. You will be responsible for the delivery of these resources, ensuring that staff and students work in an environment that is both productive and safe. You will not only bring key skills with you but contribute to ongoing development of the workshops. Your profileYou should have a BA in a relevant Art and Design subject (or a professional equivalent) and relevant experience gained through working in industry/practice and or education. You must be able to demonstrate and pass on technical skills to a wide range of students, have an in-depth knowledge of workshop-based skills in wood and plastics as well as a working knowledge of casting and metal working in this environment.An awareness and appreciation of the need for high levels of customer care, and professional experience in the discipline or with open-access approaches to workshop learning.In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.
