Apprentice Technician - Bus and Coach Engineering Apprentices - we have a number of locations in and around the London areaBrief overviewAre you wanting to start your career in the Automotive IndustryWe are looking to hire Bus and Coach Engineering Apprentices who will study towards either a MechElec or Electrical Technical Apprenticeship and work alongside a highly skilled workforce that is committed to quality.What will the apprentice be doingThe successful applicant will support the maintenance and servicing requirements of a fleet of busses and coaches while learning their trade to a nationally recognised standard. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to kickstarttheir career in the Automotive Industry.There are two trade routes available to applicants at this bus depot:MechElec - the successful candidate can expect to carry out: General maintenance of Buses & Coaches Carry out routine safety inspections Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical systems, engine, fuel, coolant and transmission systems Carry out routine mechanical and electrical servicing, planned preventative maintenance and "health checks" Identify with accumulated knowledge and apply initiative to rectify intermittent faultsElectrical - the successful candidate can expect to carry out: General maintenance of Buses & Coaches Carry out routine electrical servicing and planned maintenance. Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical circuits and wiring Interrogate wiring diagrams. Identify components, current flow, and circuit protection Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical charging systems, battery storage and electrical drive systemsWhat training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the endTraining is delivered in the workplace and via seven/eight weekly college blocks per year at S&B Automotive Academy, you will be required to travel to the Academy in Bristol and stay in hotel accommodation if needed. All costs for this are met by the employerand there will be no cost to you.As a result, you will receive the following qualification: Level 3 Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 2 Functional Skills in maths & English (if required)What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeshipAs a company RATP Dev Transit London are committed to providing development and training opportunities to our employees.
