Job Description

Morgan McKinley is currently working with a leading Investment bank who are keen to get a Application support/IT Operations specialist to join the team in London.Job Responsiblities:

  • An IT Ops engineer with good knowledge of IT systems used in the financial markets domain, their related infrastructure, and the IT risk controls that surround them.
  • Seen as subject matter expert by both IT and business stakeholders.
  • Responsible for functional and technical support of a few systems, ranging from a legacy software system hosted in traditional data centres to solutions running in the cloud.
  • Expert at performing IT service management, at ensuring IT reliability and at automating operational controls around our applications as much as possible.
  • You are a primary contact for IT risk related activities.
  • Deal with incidents and requests raised by end users, performing incident and problem management according to INGs policies.
  • Ensure the IT Risk Management tooling is updated with accurate and up-to-date evidence for our applications.
  • Contribute to multiple life cycle management tasks of our applications, e.g. patching our servers from development through to production environments.
    • Required Skill-set:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Strong IT background
  • 5+ years of experience in an Ops or DevOps role within IT, preferably within Financial Markets
  • Good knowledge of Financial Markets and supporting platforms.
  • Experience with performing IT Ops activities for multiple applications.
  • Experience in supporting vendor-built applications.
  • Experience in developing automation scripts.
  • Experience with managing IT risk controls for applications in banking.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, Sybase) and data structures.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, scheduling and system monitoring.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
    • Desirable:
  • Experience with supporting applications for post-trading processing, such as APTP and Gloss.
  • Experience with supporting applications for managing global securities borrowing and lending lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of BlueCurve or similar Client Relationship Management tool.
  • Working knowledge of BD Advanced or similar application for Financial Research production and distribution.
