Job Description

Application Development ManagerContract, 8 months duration£500 - £560 per dayBased from home with occasional visits to London SE1Application Development Manager to manage the delivery of application software, onshore and offshore, ensuring the coding standard is maintained and improved. You will have end-end responsibility of delivering quality solutions for projects from both internal and third-party personnel and rapid delivery of solutions across multiple technologies.This is a managerial role with focus on Web and Cloud deployments (Azure) - the successful candidate must have extensive proven experience implementing technical solutions and effective in both new and more established technologies.Main duties - Technical

  • Establish coding standards and principles where missing across the Application Development function and ensure adherence to these by projects
  • Engineering solutions, tasking the development team(s) throughout the construction and testing of the product to ensure that the solution remains true to the Design
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues arising on the project promptly to keep the project on track
  • Responsible for both the oversight and ownership of complex, enterprise wide development tasks
  • Define and execute the development road map to align to strategic goals
  • Manage our development lifecycle processes, internally as well as on third party deliveries
    • Minimum Person Specification
  • 10 years of experience in enterprise-level IT operations and support.
  • 10 years of Delivery management & Release management experience.
  • 7 years of experience of supervisory or management experience.
  • A broad and balanced understanding of IT capabilities, methods and technologies.
  • Strong experience of design, development and support of IT solutions
  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders on the solutions for proposed initiatives
  • Experience of managing Vendors with Onshore/Offshore teams
  • Strong business acumen
  • Technical Leadership experience and from a Development background.
  • Experience in technical environments that use opensource as well as out-of-box technologies
  • Experience of web and Cloud deployments (AZURE experience would be beneficial)
    • This role in contract outside of IR35, supplementing existing resource that are seconded to programme work. It will require strong leadership to manage and develop a team and being responsible for their performance. Setting priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity. Required skills
