Job Description

ANALYTICS ENGINEER (SQL, LOOKER, DBT)FINTECHLONDON£55,000A fast growing Fintech company company who have successfully brought an innovative product to market and have just been acquired by a larger company are looking to add a talented Analytics Engineer to the team who has experience using Dbt and modelling data to platform it for tools like Looker (ideal) or TableauTHE COMPANYThis company has a great reputation and are recognised across the UK as one of the market leaders having enjoyed great growth since their inception in 2010. Since their merger they also have a more diverse product offering. There is now about 500 people in the business and they raised over $70m in their series C funding roundTHE ROLEIf you were to be successful in your application for this Analytics Engineer , your responsibilities would include:

  • Working within a central analytics team closely with engineering to improve the quality of the data feeding the Looker platform.
  • Improve the DBt models to improve DWHing performance and reduce costs and therefore take pressure off the analysts so they have more time to perform analysis and insights work
  • Design and maintain the data architecture and participate in knowledge sharing with analysts on data modelling best practice, optimising SQL queries and engineering best practices (version control, testing, code deployment)
  • Write complex, production quality data transformation code (ie accurate, performant and maintainable) to solve the needs of analysts and other stakeholders needing to access that data
  • Improve Data Literacy and encourage self-service through user friendly interfaces in their BI tools
    • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIn order for your application for the BI Analyst to be successful you will need;
  • Knowledge of modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and big data structures
  • Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modelling concepts and best practices
  • Strong SQL Experience with dbt, and ideally experience with data visualisation and modern BI Tools, e.g. Looker (or Tableau, Domo etc)
  • Ability to communicate clearly about data to both technical and non-technical audiences
