Job Description

OMD Analyst - Europe/CIS/Africa Your Role The Analyst assists consultants with data analysis and research for use in proprietary studies as well as the compilation of project reports and presentations across a wide range of activities related to the crude oil and refined product value chains. The team is also heavily involved with supporting our clients, downstream oil industry in Europe, CIS and Africa regions, navigate the energy transition and reduce their carbon footprint. Through experience, training and performance there is the opportunity to develop into a consultant role. Responsibilities: Construct and manipulate Excel workbooks for data analysis. Manipulate proprietary databases and Excel Workbooks for data collection and analysis Independent research via the library or Internet, internal or paid subscription/publications. Possess research and analytical writing skills. Audit and update proprietary models and tools such as the crude oil and refined product price forecast models and crude oil assay cutting tools. Ability to translate raw data and concepts into graphical reports. Work with analysts and consultants to produce comprehensive presentations and reports. Review data for accuracy and proofreading of written reports. Must be knowledgeable about IHS Markit resources/experts in order to reach project objectives and provide text/analysis for projects utilizing these resources. About You Minimum of 1 year directly related experience e.g. industry, consulting or technology firms Bachelors degree required. Degree in engineering or other numerical degree Any equivalent combination of experience and education. High degree of data manipulation. Desire to learn/understand crude oil and petroleum industry Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (linking, pivot tables, database link) Microsoft VBA and/or Power BI experience beneficial Interact with clients (internal and external) Multi-task and prioritize Inclusion and diversity are critical to the success of IHS Markit, and we actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
