The Alternatives business use a diverse range of investment strategies, covering a wide range of asset classes across a wide range of geographies and sectors. GS Asset Management engineers collaborate with investing and finance professionalsas a partnership to create quantitative computer models and web applications to support all aspects of investment and deal lifecycle needs. We create quantitative models and developing software applications to help structure, value, hedge, risk manage theinvestments in our portfolios. The team proactively collaborates with colleagues globally to ensure the most appropriate and scalable solutions are implemented to everyones benefit. GS Asset Management Engineering is directly aligned with the business. WithinGoldman Sachs Asset Management, technology is transforming all stages of our deal lifecycle. We need engineers to build cutting edge platforms to help drive opportunity discovery, pricing, execution, deal management, and STP risk representation. Automationand efficiency tooling are essential to stay competitive in the markets we operate in, and growing the business, providing additional successful investment strategies to our clients. The team primarily uses open source industry standard (Java, Javascript,React, Angular, SQL, MongoDB), alongside in-house platforms. Your time will be split between contributing to the long-term engineering vision for the business, executing on that strategy by building and maintaining well-designed and tested software to ensureour risk is appropriately captured in our systems. You will be working closely with the deal teams, portfolio managers, fund managers, traders, and operations on both strategic longer-term initiatives while supporting time sensitive business needs. Skills and Experience we are looking for: Meaningful experience in, but not limited to, any one ofthe following programming languages: Java, C++, Python, Javascript/Typescript, React/Redux, Angular Should include experience of working with some relational or non-relational database(s) Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms Excellent objectoriented, data modelling or functional analysis and design skills Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a global team Proven strong communication and interpersonal ability Experience building client- and consumer-facingproducts is a plus, but not essential Knowledge of existing strategic firmwide platforms is a plus, but not essential Experience building interactive web applications and an interest in adopting new cloud technologies [eg.
