Job Description

  • Summary of pilot flight hoursOBJECTIVE: To organise and conduct audits, inspections and oversight of Air Operators to ensure that aircrafts, ground facilities and company policies and practices meet the minimum requirements as per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) and Air Navigation Regulations and Standards.Duties and Responsibilities:Tasks designated to the position include but not limited to the following:The Aircraft Operations Inspector is responsible to the Chief of Aircraft Operations (CAO) and his primary responsibilities are to assist the Senior Aircraft Operations Inspector (SAOI) for all service covering all aspects of flight operations to ensure safety compliance.
  • To assist the CAO and SAOI with the conduct of certification, operational inspection and continued surveillance service covering all aspects of flight operations to ensure safety compliance.
  • To prepare annual surveillance plan for operational inspections and submit it through CAO to the Director of Aeronautical Licensing (DAL) for approval.
  • To maintain and update records of all operational inspections and certification.
  • To attend correspondence covering all aspects of flight operations.
  • To forward records to Licensing Sub-section in respect of all examinations, tests, proficiency checks, etc. in respect of flight crew, AME and flight operational inspections.
  • To attend correspondence covering all aspects of flight operations.
  • To assist the Flight Operations Inspection Sub-section and Flight Operations Inspectors in their functions and duties as required.
  • To maintain and ensure the upkeep of office equipment for the Flight Operations Inspection Sub-section.
  • To perform related duties assigned by DAL and CAO.
  • NOTE: In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (Essential qualifications)ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION (Mandatory)Education:
  • Successful completion of secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Degree equivalency Occupational Certification:
  • Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License - Aeroplane Category with a valid Instrument Rating.
  • Possession of a Medical Validation Certificate Class 1.
  • Possession of an English Language Proficiency Test Level 6
  • Aircraft Type Rating:
  • Transport category aircraft, preferably current on one or more of the following type: B787, B767, B737, A320
  • Experience:
  • Experience as pilot in command of multi-engine turbine powered aircraft of a Maximum Certified Takeoff Gross Weight of 50,000 pounds or greater operating under airline or cargo operations.
  • Accumulated not less than 5,000 hours as a pilot-in-command of civil or military air transport aircraft.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience of flight operations
  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Civil Air Law, Air Navigation Regulations and its associated standards, and ICAO SARPS.
  • Knowledge of risk management techniques
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Knowledge of Quality Management system (QMS)
  • Practical knowledge on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Plan (CAP)
  • Familiarity of the Performance-based regulatory regime.
  • Knowledge of operational requirements and flight performance of a variety of large aeroplane types including current navigation systems, flight management systems and instrument flight guidance systems.
  • A good command of oral and written English is essential
  • Computer literacy and word processing skills

  • ASSET QUALIFICATION:Education:
  • Bachelors degree from a recognized university with a specialization in aeronautical, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer sciences;
  • Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position.
  • Other degrees attained.
  • Experience:
  • Experience as a training pilot (TRI).
  • Experience as a pilot examiner (TRE)
  • Experience as a pilot-in-command (PIC) in global operations including Trans oceanic.
  • Experience on advanced technology aircraft.
  • Experience as a flight operations Inspector or as a Principal Operations Inspector (POI)
  • Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of airline inspection and appraisal methods and techniques, flight operations evaluation methods and pilot proficiency/instrument rating check requirements and methods.
  • Conditions of employmentCandidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment

  • Must maintain a valid Airline Transport Pilot license (ATPL)
