Job Description

Agile Squad Lead (DevOps / AWS)London (Remote Based) £100,000 - £120,000 + fantastic benefits and excellent pension.Keywords: DevOps, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Git, Python, Lambda, S3, IaC, Platform, CI/CD, Yaml, Puppet, Cloud, Chef.Our client is looking for an Agile Squad Lead to join their team.Primary Purpose of Role: Within this role you will be the Agile Squad Lead on a core product that is the first of its kind in the world. This role will see you doing the following:

  • Provide technical leadership at a design level, working in a cross functional environment, interacting with Product Managers, Technical Architects and the Senior Leadership team.
  • Being an escalation point and subject matter expert for technical engineering with the ability to be hands on and also mentor more junior engineers.
On a technical level, youll be someone that enjoys working with AWS and tools like Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins. Youll have good exposure to Lambda functions be comfortable scripting in Python, Bash or Shell. Youre someone that champions DevOps cultureand is passionate and strives for efficiency, embracing automation and constantly assessing new tools and languages as theyre released.Within this role you will be given the opportunity to lead on new and interesting products and be part of an environment that supports learning & development by giving you the time and budget to further improve your skills.Key Responsibilities: Your technical experience will have seen you develop the following skills:
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, ideally with Certification.
  • Experience with IaC build tools, e.g; Terraform.
  • Experience with server config and automation tools, e.g; Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools with the ability to build and manage pipelines.
  • Knowledge of agile delivery in a DevOps environment.
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to manage upwards and own a technical roadmap.
  • An understanding of architecture, governance and the formal review process.
  • A Cloud led approach to design with previous experience harnessing AWS to manage large datasets
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to security architecture & web application architecture.
  • Knowledge of Python / React with API architecture skills.
