Who we are looking forYour role as Trader Assistant sits within the Agency Lending Trading team in London. The group comprises of Equities and Fixed Income traders. Your role as Trader Assistant sits within the Agency Lending Trading team in London. The group comprises of Equities and Fixed Income traders. You will support and sit directly with the equities team on a busy trading floor enabling you to get direct exposureto their expertise and trading strategies. You will be part of the broader Securities Finance ecosystem that is composed of three productsAgency Lending (AL), Enhanced Custody (EC) and Alternative Financing Solutions (AFS). Securities Finance places a strongemphasis on collaboration and talent development and there will be many opportunities to work closely with our Business Development, Client Management, Algorithmic Trading, Technology, Operations and Risk teams. You will be required to build relationshipsacross these teams to maximize successful outcomes.

• responsible for supporting the traders to ensure workflows between trade execution and settlement are as efficient as possible
• responsible for numerous high-risk post-execution activities such as resolving rates breaks, unmatched trades, dividend breaks approaching record date, trades at risk of buy-in or facing market penalties, fund reallocations, high-risk recall chasers, re-ratesand re-bookings
• involved with initiating new broker onboards as well as requesting adjustments to collateral buckets which will help to generate revenue or manage our financial resources more efficiently
• identify root causes of straight-through-processing (STP) failure, and youll work with Operations, Technology, Post-Trade Service vendors (such as Equilend and Pirum) and our borrower counterparts to solve for themes to minimize their future occurrence
• continuously challenged to innovate and explore ways to improve current Agency Lending and vendor platforms and processes, including utilizing programming skills to create tactical solutions where required
• challenged to explore new trade structures, strategies and collateral types to ensure State Street Agency Lending remains an industry leader

Trader Assistant Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, financial markets environment preferred, ideally in Securities Lending
• We will also consider recent graduates or exceptional candidates with experience and strong ALevels if you have demonstrable character outlined in Who You Are and proven technical skills
• Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with business leaders and peers across multiple levels of the organization
• First-class organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong problem solving, analytical and technical skills
• Ability in QlikView, VBA, Python (Pandas / Numpy etc) or equivalent programming language an advantage
• Ambition to move into a trading role in the future if successful in this role
• Broad outside interests and a well-rounded personality
